HELPING YOUR CHILD TAME THEIR TANTRUMS

Do you shudder when you hear the word “tantrums”? I know of few parents who are not leery or weary of the next tantrum that their child is about to throw! Of course, temper tantrums are part of a child’s normal development. We all know that, but staying calm and remembering that during a tantrum, is no easy task. There is another way to get your children to listen to you and you won’t feel like a broken record. Take a look and perhaps your child’s “hearing” will also improve!

BEING A MINDFUL PARENT

I’m sure that you’ve read or heard about mindful or conscious parenting…they seem to be the new buzz phrase. Is it a fad, or here to stay? I hope it’s here to stay and that more and more parents will be awake and aware as they parent. When parents ask if it takes more time and work to be a mindful parent, I smile. It actually takes less time and energy to be mindful in your parenting. You become more responsive, less reactive and can truly enjoy your time with your child.
